Furnace Installation in Toronto, Ontario

A high-efficiency furnace sized right for your home — warmer, quieter, and cheaper to run all winter.

Furnace Installation in Toronto & the GTA

A furnace installed correctly will run quietly and efficiently for two decades. One installed carelessly will short-cycle, run noisy, and fail early — regardless of what the box cost. NorthPoint installs high-efficiency furnaces across Toronto and the GTA with the sizing, venting, and commissioning work done properly.

It starts with a heat-loss calculation for your actual home rather than a rule of thumb. Bigger is not better with furnaces: an oversized unit satisfies the thermostat fast, shuts off, and leaves you with cold spots, temperature swings, and a blower that never runs long enough to mix the air in the house.

We then match equipment to how you live. A single-stage furnace is a solid value choice. Two-stage and modulating furnaces with variable-speed ECM blowers run longer and gentler, which evens out temperatures between floors — a real difference in three-storey Toronto semis and older homes with weak second-floor returns.

Installation includes proper venting for a condensing appliance, correct gas line sizing, a condensate drain and neutralizer where required, duct transitions that do not choke airflow, full combustion analysis, permit and inspection, and warranty registration. We commission the system with you, show you the filter and shutoff, and leave the site clean.

Choosing and installing the right furnace

Sizing by heat loss, not by rule of thumb

An oversized furnace satisfies the thermostat quickly, shuts off, and leaves you with cold spots, temperature swings between floors, and a blower that never runs long enough to mix the air. We calculate the actual heat loss of your home and size to it — which frequently means a smaller unit than what is being replaced.

Single-stage, two-stage or modulating

Single-stage is the value option and is either fully on or off. Two-stage runs at reduced capacity most of the time for gentler, more even heat. A modulating furnace with a variable-speed ECM blower adjusts continuously and makes the biggest difference in three-storey Toronto semis and older homes with weak second-floor returns.

Efficiency, and what it actually costs to run

AFUE is the percentage of fuel converted to usable heat. A mid-efficiency furnace at 80% sends a fifth of your gas bill up the vent; a condensing furnace at 96% sends almost none. The trade-off is that condensing appliances need different venting and a condensate drain, which we handle as part of the job.

What a correct installation includes

Proper venting for a condensing appliance, correctly sized gas line, condensate drain and neutralizer where required, duct transitions that do not choke airflow, full combustion analysis, permit and inspection, and warranty registration. We commission the system with you and show you the filter and the shutoff before we go.

Furnaces we install

We match the right furnace to your home and budget:

  • High-efficiency gas — Condensing furnaces up to 96%+ AFUE for the lowest running costs.
  • Two-stage & modulating — Smoother, quieter heat and better comfort on mild days.
  • Electric furnaces — For homes without gas service or as part of an all-electric plan.
  • Furnace + AC bundles — Install heating and cooling together for the best efficiency and price.
Furnace installation for GTA winters

Toronto winters demand reliable, efficient heat. We design furnace installations around your home's size, insulation, and ductwork, and prioritize high-efficiency equipment that pays back through the long GTA heating season.

Why choose NorthPoint for furnace installation?
  • Right-sized, quiet heat — We size with a load calc so your furnace heats evenly without short-cycling.
  • Licensed & insured — Fully licensed technicians and full insurance protect your home and your investment.
  • Local GTA team since 2015 — Toronto-based — we know local homes, permits, and the climate we install for.
  • Upfront written pricing — You approve the price before work begins. No surprises, no pressure.
How long does furnace installation take?

Most furnace installs are completed in a day. Fuel conversions or ductwork changes can take longer.

What efficiency furnace should I get?

In our climate, high-efficiency (90%+ AFUE) furnaces usually pay back through lower winter bills. We help you weigh upfront cost against savings.

What size furnace do I need?

Sizing comes from a heat-loss calculation for your home — not a rule of thumb. An oversized furnace short-cycles and wears out faster.

Are furnace rebates available?

High-efficiency furnaces and heat pumps often qualify for rebates. We will identify what applies.

Do you handle permits and gas work?

Yes — licensed installation, permits, and safety testing are all included.

Can I finance a new furnace?

Yes. See our financing page for monthly-payment options.
